About Rachel Knott
I’ve always been the person who wanders off to talk to the animals.
As a child, I’d head straight out the door after school with my basset hound, off on little adventures where everything felt simple. Animals and nature were always where I felt most at home.
Rachel's Journey into Animal Communication and Healing
I’ve always been the person who wanders off to talk to the animals.
As a child, I’d head straight out the door after school with my basset hound, off on little adventures where everything felt simple. Animals and nature were always where I felt most at home.
I actually trained in interpreting and translation before any of this. Looking back, it makes perfect sense — I’ve always been fascinated by communication, by understanding what someone is really trying to say. I just didn’t know then that I’d eventually use that skill with a completely different species.
After a few years in the corporate world (which never felt like “me”), I was made redundant. It was the best thing that could’ve happened.
I finally asked myself: What do I actually care about?
And the answer was: dogs.
That led me straight to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, and those five years changed everything.
The Animals Who Changed Everything
Sophie, my three-legged Weimaraner, was my heart dog — my first real teacher.
I adored her, but I missed so many of her subtle cues and whispers simply because I didn’t yet know how to listen. When she passed, the grief was enormous… but it also pushed open a door. It made me determined to understand animals on a much deeper level — beyond behaviour, beyond training, beyond “what should I do?”
That grief was the start of everything that followed.
Then came Baxter, another sensitive Weimaraner with chronic skin issues.
Supporting him made me realise that behaviour work alone wasn’t enough. He gently nudged me into plant work, zoopharmacognosy, energy awareness, animal communication…the whole world beneath the surface.
Both dogs reshaped me.
They taught me that our animals aren’t “others” we look after — they’re partners. They feel us, respond to us, teach us and reflect us. And when things are challenging, they’re not failing. They’re inviting us into something deeper.
💛 My Mission
My mission is simple:
to honour your animal’s voice and help you understand what they’ve been trying to show you.
I listen on your behalf — clearly, sensitively and without judgement — and I translate their perspective into something you can take in and work with.
I don’t see challenges as something to fix.
I see them as invitations:
“Look here. Something meaningful is happening.”
There’s a quiet alchemy that unfolds when you finally hear your animal in this way — and my role is to support you both through that process with clarity, compassion and grounded guidance.
My Approach
My work is calm, intuitive and very down-to-earth.
I listen deeply — to your animal, to you, and to the subtle space between you where so much unspoken communication already happens.
Sometimes I bring in aromatic plants or sensory elements, not as “tools,” but because they naturally support connection. They help animals express what they’re feeling, and they help humans drop into presence rather than overthinking.
Whether we’re exploring behaviour, emotions, physical sensitivities or the energetic dynamics shaping your relationship, I always come back to the same thing:
the relationship itself.
That’s where everything starts to make sense.
Clients often tell me they feel calmer, clearer and more connected after a session — as if something that felt confusing suddenly becomes understandable.

A Little More About Me
I live near Brighton with Darcy, my beautiful English Pointer, who is sensitive, playful and keeps me on my toes.
When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me outside — walking, swimming in the sea, playing tennis — or recording conversations for my podcast Unruly by Nature, which I adore.
I’m grounded, I love humour, I don’t take myself too seriously, and I genuinely care about the humans and animals I work with.
At the heart of everything I do is this:
When we listen differently, everything opens.
